  • About the Department

    Serving all citizens and visitors within our area with outstanding law enforcement is the goal of the San Andreas State Police. Through proactive policing and public trust, our troopers are dedicated to fulfilling the highest standards of integrity, bravery, and accountability while enforcing state laws, reducing crime, and fostering safe communities.

    Chain of Command

    • Administration: Colonel, Lt. Colonel, Major
    • Command: Captain, Lieutenant
    • Staff: Sergeant, Corporal
    • Membership: Trooper First Class, Trooper, Probationary Trooper

    How to Join

    1. Submit a transfer request (~15 minutes).
    2. Pass the LEO Examination, for those who come from the Civilian, Communications, or Fire Department.
    3. Pass your ride-alongs.

    Eligibility

    • Hold the rank of Police Officer, Dispatcher, Firefighter, or Civilian.
    • Must have been apart of the community for a minimum of 30 days.

    Bureaus

    • Bureau of Patrol Operations: the core of conducting the day-to-day operations for the State Police. Providing uniformed patrols across the state. Ensuring public safety, enforcing traffic laws, and responding to calls for service. Troopers assigned to Patrol Operations conduct proactive patrols, crash investigations and provide assistance with mutual aid calls. The bureau maintains a constant presence on state highways and rural areas. As the front line of the department, the Bureau of Patrol Operations represents the core values of Integrity, Service and Accountability.
